The ethereal drains British Lo-fi indie/post rock, Formed in Manchester by founding member Rory Ashley Brown, gained interest after recording the mini album Mausoleum Midnight which displayed their early influences of grungy new wave music but also aspects of electronica and ambient. ethereal drains music was amongst some of the first to be available for download online, being one of the many artists who could be downloaded and bought using the now defunked, pioneering, digital music site MP3.COM. The ethereal drains have emerged from a self confessed hibernation period, recently and begun work on the displaced persons project which is thought to be quite a new direction towards more electronic, loop based soundscapes and beats. The sound is laced with samples and clattering beats which gives it the electronic, industrial sounds of Kraftwerk, Zoviet*France and Rapoon, combined with the minimalist, acoustic, sound of early Leonard Cohen, Syd Barrett, and Nick Drake. http://www.myspace.com/etherealdrains
